Salt Run Outfitters is pleased to provide affordable access to the fabulous inshore fishing of northeast Florida. We offer guided fly fishing and light tackle kayak fishing charters for anglers visiting Jacksonville and St. Augustine. Clients enjoy a variety of exciting saltwater kayak fishing experiences throughout northeast Florida. Our professional guides and special focus on the Intracoastal Waterway's rivers and numerous salt marsh creeks in the Guana River / Salt Run / Moses Creek / Pellicer Flats coastal region have made our services a favorite of anglers worldwide.

Excellent saltwater fly fishing and light tackle fishing is to be found in our home waters. Our piece of Florida's northeast coast is framed by the Guana River in the north and the wildlife filled Pellicer Creek flats to the south. Here, our angling guests enjoy hooking and fighting redfish, sea trout, bluefish, flounder, jack crevelle, ladyfish, black drum, sheephead, pompano and more. Included in this stretch of coast are two openings to the Atlantic Ocean; St. Augustine Inlet and Matanzas Inlet. Both inlets and our beaches hold tarpon, which we target during the summer season.

Our guides, Jim Holland and Dan Holland, are pleased to be able to place their sixty plus years of fly fishing experience at your service. While we are fly fishing specialists, we also offer light tackle kayak fishing trips as well. Because we access this fishery with kayaks and by wading, we must stress that our fishing excursions are NOT for everyone. However, if you are reasonably physically fit, a delightful day of fishing and paddling our coastal flats and salt marsh creeks awaits you.

Getaway4florida.com had this to say about the excellent kayak fishing surrounding St. Augustine:
Just north of the city, you will find the Tolomato and Guana rivers. The shallow bays and inlets along these freshwater thoroughfares serve as a nursery ground for every species sought by recreational anglers.

South of the city, the Matanzas River carries on, catching the outfalls of Moultrie, Moses and Pelicer creeks. An angler in a flats boat, canoe or kayak, could easily lose a day fishing anyone of these waterways.

And then there's Salt Run. Protected by Anastasia Island to the west and Conch Island to the east, Salt Run is the ideal place for fly fishermen to come hunt tailing redfish. Nearby Anastasia State Park serves as an excellent base of operations and an ideal place to launch my fishing boat of choice, the sit-on-top sea kayak.

Because of its seemingly endless array of shallow-water fishing opportunities, St. Augustine has become a destination of choice for kayak fishermen from around the Southeast. But tourists are quickly catching on to what has been a tightly-held local secret.
